Dutch Oven Ham and Scalloped Potatoes

From scratch Ham and Scalloped Potatoes - Well worth the effort!
- 3 cups sliced potatoes
- 2 cups cubed ham
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Layer potato slices and ham in liner pan. Cover with milk. Sprinkle with salt and pepper (if desired).
- Place liner pan in prepared Dutch Oven. Cook for 30 minutes at 325 to 350 degrees. When done, potato slices should be fork tender.
- Layer shredded cheese on top of potatoes. Leave airspace for cheese to expand into as it melts. Cover and place on heat for at least 5 to 10 minutes to melt cheese. Serve warm.
Don't overload the liner pan. The potatoes and ham should move around some, not be one solid mass. If they are too tightly packed, the dish will take much longer to cook.
